Martyn Williamson is an amateur artist born in New Zealand in 1956.

Having resided in Queensland for the last 45 years, whilst raising a family of three daughters, he worked as a landscaper while satisfying his creative spirit through this more physical form of art while, when time allowed, pursuing his love of artistic visualisation.

While having an open heart and nurturing soul he has connected with several characters from the unfortunate, the quirky, the downtrodden and extremely fortunate while finding a bond with all he crosses paths while committing them to memory and recreating them through his art.

Martyn has always delved into hid soul and explored his complex and creative brain to produce artwork that has been admired by all who have had the opportunity to witness or have received his many works as gifts and commissions.

Art having been his joy and passion for many years, starting with inks as a teenager while living alone in a ‘Batch’, (a single room beach shack), he would draw his dreams, some of which have been framed and are still admired in his home, his own personal gallery of dreams!

After much encouragement and with the gift of time, he has now chosen to pursue his talent and his mind to create on a professional level without compromising his unique style.

During Martyn’s life art has been a calming and therapeutic expression for him.

An art curator from a prestigious gallery in Singapore wrote the following as an appreciation of his work.

His works are incredibly delicate and involve a multitude of images. Souls and emotions are laid onto the canvases which flash before the viewers eye. These intelligent drawings depict the beauty of the artist’s soul.
